What is Cost per booking?
Cost per booking is the marketing cost allocated to each confirmed property booking in a defined period or lead cohort. It connects campaign spending to a commercial outcome. Developers should state which costs and cancellations are included, because media-only cost per booking differs from the fully loaded cost of acquiring a buyer.
Formula: allocated marketing spend ÷ confirmed bookings. Keep media, production, agency fees and channel partner commissions visible rather than mixing different cost bases.
Match bookings to the leads that generated them. Report provisional bookings separately from confirmed bookings and explain how cancellations change the calculation.
Why it matters in Indian real estate
Illustration: ₹6 lakh of allocated spend and six confirmed bookings gives ₹1 lakh per booking. This is arithmetic, not a performance benchmark.
