What is Expression of interest?
An expression of interest is a prospective buyer’s indication that they want further information or consideration for a property project. It is not automatically a booking, allotment or sales commitment. Developers should state the terms clearly and check registration requirements before any project promotion, invitation or collection connected to an EOI.
Distinguish an interest form from a payment or contractual commitment. If money is proposed, obtain a legal review of eligibility, disclosures and refund terms first.
RERA registration requirements cannot be bypassed by renaming advertising as an EOI campaign. Check the applicable project and phase before releasing public material.
Why it matters in Indian real estate
For an illustrative registered Whitefield phase, a buyer can indicate configuration and budget interest without the sales report counting that form as a booked apartment.
